Thailand Foreword
My name is Ian Donovan and I am a second year pharmacy student at the University of Arizona! I chose to embark on this journey because I've alway had a fascination for traveling. The world is so vast and the majority of my life has often been spent in one place - Arizona. I seek any chance I get to experience other cultures and witness firsthand the beautiful landscapes of other environments. I also would love to observe the pharmacy practice in a completely different culture. Professionally, I am most looking forward to identifying any variations between the responsibilities of a pharmacist in Thailand compared to a pharmacist in America, specifically in a hospital setting. Personally, I am most excited about enjoying the variety of different foods available in Thailand, such as all the delicious curries with coconut cream. The other major interest of mine is experiencing the beautiful and green scenery that is so abundant in Thailand due to the warm and humid climate that allows ecosystems to thrive. My only real concerns are dealing with mosquitos and overcoming language barriers. I expect to lather myself in DEET and will start downloading language translation applications for my phone now! Until next time blog! This is Ian Donovan signing off! :))))))
Hello Thailand
My name is Eliane Fossati and I am a second year pharmacy student at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. I chose to join this trip to Thailand in order to broaden my own scope within the profession of pharmacy and all that it has to offer. In addition, I wanted to take this opportunity to represent the College of Pharmacy on an international platform so that I may not only bring back the things learned here in Thailand, but also demonstrate the things that our university has to offer as well. The thing that I am most concerned about would be the language barrier and being able to communicate in the most effective way. I am excited to see what this trip has to offer and all the things that we will learn from the Thai realm of pharmacy!
Pre Thailand
Hello my name is Nina Ameli and I am a second year pharmacy student. I chose to join this trip because I am a travel bug and have never been to east Asia and it is a place I have always wanted to visit. Another reason why I chose to go on this trip was to travel with my classmates in a different country. I am most excited about the food and meeting the people. I have heard that Thai people are some of the nicest people in the world. I am also intrigued by how pharmacy is done in Thailand and learning how the different cultures practice healthcare. My concerns with traveling to a country that doesn't have access to clean water is getting sick and also the humid weather since I am AZ born and raised I only know the dry heat.
Thailand Pharmacy Trip
My name is Bradley Nash and I will be a second year pharmacy student at the University of Arizona. I am exceptionally excited about this trip! I decided to join the trip, because I am interested in gaining insight on how other rich cultures incorporate western medical practices within traditional ways of living. Professionally, I am looking forward to working with pharmacists and students that learned pharmacy in a system different than our own. Also, personally, I am looking forward to learn about Thai culture. The only concern that I have is a language barrier and perhaps also, breaking customary practices that we may not know about. All in all, I am so happy that I was able to come on this trip and I cannot wait to learn about pharmacy in Thailand!
Pre Thailand
Hello Everyone!
My name is Kristen Pyland and I am in my second year of pharmacy school. I decided to go on this international trip because this is a once in a life time opportunity. I am so excited to be with my class exploring the culture and learning more about our future careers. I have never been this far away from the United States, and am most looking forward to the sightseeing and diving into culture. I always see posts of Thailand on facebook and cannot believe that now I get to go and see it for myself. I am mostly concerned about the weather. I recently learned we are going during monsoon season and am worried we won't get to see as much as we would if there was not bad weather.

Pre-Thailand!
Hi there,
My name is Aileen and like the majority of my fellow travelers I am going to be a second-year pharmacy student. There are several reasons for why I chose to join this trip. First, one item on my bucket list is to fill a passport and this was a chance to collect a few stamps. Second, I have always wanted to visit Thailand in particular for the sights, culture, and cuisine. Third, I signed up for this trip early in my first year while I still didn't know my classmates very well, so I thought traveling with this group might help me get to know some of them better. Lastly and most importantly, when else would I have such an excellent opportunity to learn about international pharmacy? It's one thing to read and hear about but another to actually visit and meet others who practice pharmacy in another country. I really look forward to learning about any similarities and differences between our hospitals, pharmacies, and curriculum and those in Thailand. I also look forward to meeting the students at Chulalongkorn and Mahidol Universities and bonding over the struggle that is pharmacy school 😄. What I don't look forward to are the mosquitos since I always get eaten alive whenever I go to the Philippines, which has a similarly wet and warm climate. Aside from that, I have no major concerns - just excitement!

Pre thailand post
Hello!
My name is Mariam El-Zein and this will be my second year in pharmacy school. I joined this trip because because I lover learning about other cultures, especially when it comes to healthcare. This opportunity to learn and also have fun was something I could not pass up. While in Thailand, I look forward to learning and understanding Thai health practices when it comes to pharmacy and also having a great time with the pharmily. I guess my only concern when it comes to Thailand would have to be the humidity. Other than that I can hardly wait for this trip to begin!
